Dining Table or Center Table

“Well Rounded”

We designed this table to function as either a round pedestal form dining or center table that combines some aspects of the Neo-Plastisim, De Stijl, and the Neo-Impressionism paintings of Piet Mondrian with the mosaic pieces being separated by thin black lines that can be seen in the inset panels on the top, edges of the top and pedestal, and the round cutout in the top. The round top is divided by four diagonal inset mosaic panels, which separate the pie shaped tiger maple custom cut 1/8” thick panels forming the top surface of the top. The table is also influenced by the Prairie Style architecture of Frank Loyd Wright with its exaggerated overhang flat roofs and use of positive and negative space and the basic round form within its design seen in the Guggenheim Museum. The use of “Old Stock” exotic imported woods in the construction of the piece in combination with the use of Richlite Black Diamond and the These facts all contribute to this piece qualifying for Leed Building Practices, Green Practices, and Best Practices.

This round pedestal form dining table was designed and fabricated at the same time as the rectilinear table entitled “Dinner with Mondrian” to offer a client a smaller and different form while still employing our unique mosaic work and glass covered cutout in the top Again being influenced by both Piet Mondrian’s painting and Frank Lloyd Wright’s architecture. It too will have its inaugural exhibition at the Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show in November of 2024.
